THE MOST COMMON LEARNING DISABILITY NO ONE HAS HEARD OF. 'Development Language Disorder' or DLD for short, is a condition that affects our ability in understanding and/or using spoken language - affecting 2 students in every classroom of 30. No one knows what causes it but it is usually genetic. Listen to Lily Farrington, a young woman with DLD in this video she created, explain what it is like to live with the condition.

'DEVELOPMENTAL LANGUAGE DISORDER' EXPLAINED. Confusion over terminology for language difficulties ran for almost 200 years and has hindered awareness and communication. Professors Dorothy Bishop and Maggie Snowling led a consensus process to tackle this issue. In this video Dorothy Bishop explains the consensus process, the agreement to use the term 'Developmental Language Disorder' (DLD) and the agreed criteria for this disorder.
